The Abia State elections tribunal has announced, a few minutes ago on Tuesday November 3, 2015 in Umuahia, its ruling and decision to dismiss the case brought by APGA’s Dr. Alex Otti, immediate past chief executive officer of Diamond Bank, challenging the declaration of PDP’s Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as Governor of Abia State by the INEC Abia since the April 2015 election.
Otti’s battery of lawyers alongside several Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), according to USAfrica correspondent at the Umuahia tribunal proceedings, requested the tribunal that based on what they presented as evidences of alleged rigging of votes, inflation of numbers and falsification of results far in excess of actually registered voters and PVCs in some constituencies, the tribunal should void Ikpeazu’s claim to have been duly elected as Governor.
On the other hand, the Ikpeazu camp insists that their client who had the backing of the immediate former Governor of the State Theodore Orji has valid claims to be affirmed as the actual winner of the disputed elections — which I covered in Abia State.
The entry of the final/closing arguments by the Otti and Ikpeazu lawyers were made on Monday October 19, 2015. Supporters of Otti in Abia are wondering: what next? It seems, USAfrica has learned,, that the judicial merit of the tribunal’s basis for dismissing the petition will be litigated at the federal Court of Appeal . I predicted these 3 events, and gave reasons for my prediction, and even challenged anyone who doubted me then with a bet of $10,000:
1.Otti will not get PDP Governorship ticket.
2.Otti will not win the Abia State governorship election.
3.Otti will not win his appeal at the tribunal.
These 3 events have come to past.
Do you guys still want me to make further predictions?

Not the least dismayed by the outcome of the election tribunal judgement. It is difficult to unseat or remove a ruling party especially one that has huge sum of money stashed away and ready to use same to sway judgement. When Okezie made two trips to the U.S in quick succession, i knew he was drawing his strenght ftom somewhere. I don’t know if appeal and Supreme courts are permissible in election tribunal court that seems to be Dr. Ottis next line of defence.
Dr Otti, please take a deep breath and calm down. The verdict rendered by the Election Tribunal is most appropriate at this time. Please do not appeal this decision unless you want to drag Abia state into slippery slope. Remain blessed and better luck next time.
This is a judgement not justice. Nobody with a good conscience in Abia state can say that this is justice.
Good governance
