South African sensation Tyla has made the decision to cancel her highly anticipated debut world tour just two weeks before its scheduled start.
In a statement posted on her Instagram platform, Tyla revealed that her decision was prompted by the need to fully recover from a lingering injury she has been battling for the past year.
Despite undergoing medical treatment, the singer-songwriter expressed that her condition has worsened significantly, leading her to make this challenging choice.
“For the past year, I’ve been quietly dealing with an injury that has unfortunately deteriorated. I’ve sought the expertise of doctors and specialists with optimism, but the pain has intensified along with the severity of the situation.
“It deeply saddens me to have to announce this, but at this time, I will not be able to proceed with the tour,” the statement read, without specifying the nature of the injury.
The Grammy winner was slated to kick off her tour on March 21st in Oslo, Norway, but clarified that “continuing with any festival or tour dates would compromise my long-term health and well-being.”
Ticket holders in North America can expect refunds, while her tour dates in the UK and Europe will be rescheduled.
