The leadership of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Naperville, near Chicago, has released a statement regarding the discovery of the body of its member, a Nigerian, Olasinmibo “Sinmi” Abosede, a 46-year-old woman from Naperville, was reported missing on July 30, 2025, after she was last seen walking away from her home. Authorities believe a body found on August 14, 2025, in Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve is Abosede.
The church stated “We are deeply saddened, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time. As a parish, we remain committed to lifting Sinmi and loved ones in prayer in the days ahead.”
The police and law enforcement agencies in the area are still investigating the matter. The discovery comes a little more than two weeks after the 46-year-old married mother of four disappeared while walking near her Naperville home.
It was on July 30, 2025, that Abosede was last seen leaving her home in the 2100 block of Sudbury Street around 9:20 a.m.
