Young generation of sports players and stars who are parts of the Nigerian heritage manifested their extraordinary skills at the Super Bowl LX, a short time ago, today, February 8, 2026.
At the event, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the legendary New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
USAfricaonline.com notes that the rosters of the two teams have some Nigeria-heritage professionals such as the Seattle’s Uchenna Nwosu, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Nicholas Eze Emmanwori, Olusegun Oluwatimi and Boye Mafe. Michael Onwenu plays for the New England Patriots.
Meanwhile, 2027 presidential aspirant and 2023 candidate of the Labour Party of Nigeria, Peter Obi, immediately issued a statement, arguing that “Their success is not accidental…. If our country were governed with vision, competence, and integrity, and if leadership focused on building strong institutions, investing in people, and creating equal opportunities, there would be no limit to what Nigerians could accomplish—not just in sports, but in science, technology, business, education, and every sphere of human endeavor.”
