AFP: Police in northern Nigeria on Tuesday March 29, 2011, discovered two home-made bombs in a car carrying three suspected Islamists heading for a political rally ahead of general elections. Police suspect the target of the bombs was a political meeting of the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) held in the city of Maiduguri, which has recently been the centre of attacks by an Islamist sect known as Boko Haram.

When police found “the two locally-made bombs concealed in the boot of the car, the three suspected Boko Haram sect members took to their heels and the police opened fire …, killing one and wounding another while the third managed to escape,” Zakai Adamu, state assistant police commissioner for Borno state, told AFP.

“From all indications the suspected Boko Haram members wanted to detonate the bombs at the campaign rally,” Adamu said.

The discovery comes days before general elections, which will be spread over three weekends starting April 2, heightening fears of political violence in the volatile city.

On Sunday suspected sect gunmen killed the ANPP’s youth leader in the city shortly after he attended a political meeting.

In January the ANPP governorship candidate was killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen along with six others in an attack claimed by Boko Haram. Last October the ANPP national vice chairman for northeastern Nigeria was killed by unknown gunmen at his home in the city. Since 2010 attacks attributed to the sect in the city have left dozens dead, most of them policemen.

Any individuals, groups or communities all over the world who truly seeks the love and unity of Nigerians and Nigeria, the West Africans or the ECOWAS should first of all find out about the inevitable Guosa Language as a socio-political unity and identity towards Africans emancipation from the weapons of colonialism and disunity.

WHAT LANGUAGE IS GUOSA? The lingual franca monopoly of Nigeria and the West African countries by the colonialists did not only destabilize and destroy the socio-political, unity, authentic identity and industrial strategies of the countries; it raised data or questions which borders on the basis for cohesion, comprehension, industrial and technological revolution and the unity in such diversity because language plays a unifying role in the beginning, development, beliefs, and customs of any group of people.

The need for an indigenous evolved lingua franca for Nigeria and the Economic Communities of the West African States (ECOWAS) cannot be over emphasized. Experts have pointed out that most people think in the language of their cultural and traditional roots, and that when they speak other languages of no identical parameters to their ethnicity they engaged in transliteration and endless hurdles before the main issues at hand.

Language is a means by which words or expressions find meaning and is put into use. Basically, it is used as a means of giving out information, thoughts, skills, ideas, reasoning and ensure receipt of same from varied sources without. Above all, language is knowledge, and knowledge is POWER to the people, from the people and by the people. The Guosa Language:

There are about 400 different ethnic languages, dialects and fractional tongues in Nigeria and about twice this number in other West African countries. The Guosa Language alone had in its evolution at least 120 of these divers tongues beginning with a pair in evolution. Like a Leonardo painting, or the Benin Bronze, the language is made up of carefully detailed units of the different ethnic languages and cultural words, so that in the future years, Nigeria and the West African Regional Countries should be able to take their positive stand in the communities of lingua franca nations of the world, such as the East Africa, the North Africa, Europe, America, Asia and so on.
