Odumegwu Ojukwu is dead; Long live Ojukwu; millions mourn Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, former President and Commander-in-Chief of the defunct Republic of Biafra (1967-1970) — out of eastern Nigeria — has died in a London hospital today, Saturday November 26, 2011.

He passed on after a long battle with eye problems which were complicated by a stroke. He was almost 78 years old….

From one his 3 interviews wt USAfrica’s Chido Nwangwu on Feb 14, 2003, he said: “It was simply a choice of Biafra or enslavement….”
