An ADVERTISER’s ANNOUNCEMENT by the leadership of All Saints Anglican church of Houston, Texas, in USAfricaonline.com
LETTER TO OUR COMMUNITY (PART 2)
ALL SAINTS FINANCIAL AUDIT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED:
CLEAN (UNQUALIFIED) OPINIONS FOR THE 7 YEARS AUDITED
In our first Letter to the Community in November 2011, we gave you the facts on happenings at your All Saints Anglican Church during nearly one and half years of crisis. We acknowledged that, from inception, the Houston community has always been integral to our success and accomplishments. Your invaluable support and encouragements helped us to manage the crisis. Your continued support and understanding is essential to our future.
In that first letter, we told you that an independent audit by a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) was ongoing and would address every aspect of Church finances. Despite the deliberate maligning of the independent bookkeepers, the auditor and others who provided professional services to the Church, plus other conscious efforts to sabotage and prevent the audit, it proceeded to a very successful conclusion. Those obstructive actions were taken by persons who knew or should know better and were done out of their concern that the audit results might expose their lies. The Audit Reports were issued on the 19th day
of March 2012 for each of the 7 years audited, and each year received the best opinion that could result from an audit based on generally accepted standards.
FOR EACH OF THE AUDITED 7 YEARS (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), THE AUDITORS ISSUED A CLEAN (UNQUALIFIED) OPINION ON OUR FINANCIAL STATEMENTS. THE YEARS AUDITED COVERED PERIODS OF INTENSE FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES AT OUR CHURCH, INCLUDING THE PURCHASE OF LAND AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE HALL AND SANCTUARY ON OUR PREMISES. THE POSITIVE OUTCOME OF THE AUDIT IS CONSISTENT WITH THE ASSURANCES WE GAVE ALL ALONG REGARDING CHURCH FUNDS AND OTHER PROPERTY.
We thank the Father Almighty for granting All Saints and its leaders the discipline, fortitude and guidance to pass through yet another critical independent test of integrity and probity in the management of our Church’s resources. The first test was the independent Arbitration of September 15, 2011 whose findings and conclusions validated the decisions and actions of our leadership.
The current letter from our Board of Trustees and Parochial Church Committee is in keeping with our earlier promise that, being stakeholders in our Church, you are entitled to know the facts of our crisis without embellishment. As we share with you the good news of the audit, please continue understand that All Saints is a Church that belongs to God, not to persons.
By way of further update, please know that since our November letter, All Saints held the most successful Harvest and Thanksgiving in its history, ratified new Bylaws, elected new leaders and officers, has regenerated attendance and support of members, and purchased a sparkling new 15-seater Church Bus to facilitate our outreach, evangelism and other ministries.
Most importantly, Divine presence at All Saints continues to be made manifest in the spiritual growth being experienced in our Sunday Worship, Monday Night Prayer, Wednesday Midweek Worship, and revived Sunday School. Our activities are open and everyone is invited to share in the enlivening All Saints experience. God continues to show us in very many ways that He and He alone built All Saints for His purpose. Individuals were merely tools He used in the process.
TO HIM ALONE BELONG ALL HONOR AND GLORY IN JESUS’ NAME, AMEN.
In the November 2011 Letter, we informed you that we resolved our disputes through arbitration proceedings which were open, fair, and fully conformed to the rule of law.
Again we reassure our brothers and sisters who stayed away during the crisis that peace, calm, uninterrupted invigorating sermons and prayers have returned to our Church. We have restored a vibrant worship environment and are engaged in the vigorous pursuit of programs that address the long-neglected needs of our youth, children and families. All Saints will maintain all spiritual and legal measures necessary to keep peace, unity and healthy environment for worship in our Christian and cultural family.
Developments outside All Saints since our November letter have confirmed the truth that the vast majority of our members who became disaffected were indeed misled into divisive and destructive notions. Unable to articulate or substantiate any real issues, these folks simply succumbed to parochial and/or emotional appellations but can still not explain their actions or why they left. Our earlier assurances of hospitality and wholesome environment for worship to our returning members and others desiring a fulfilling church home are hereby restated.
There is no longer a reason to stay away rather there is every reason to return. Those that have retraced their steps are once again enjoying our cherished All Saints experience.
Finally, the All Saints Church Hall remains your venue of choice for weddings, christening, and other family and group events and celebrations. We have installed a Divider that allows for smaller and concurrent events in our Hall. Additional ongoing improvements in décor and restrooms will enhance the Hall to standards found only at 5-Star Hotels. Please come and see for yourself.
