In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, quoted Buhari as saying, “No election winner will be denied his mandate, irrespective of the party to which they belonged.”
In accordance with the statement, President Buhari was apparently reacting to Campaign Director-General Governor Simon Lalong, who had previously declared his intention to recreate the historic victory won by the SDP and Moshood Abiola in 2023 during a campaign that began in the same city 30 years prior. The military revoked that election’s victory.
At the turbulent event, President Buhari gave the candidate the APC flag and urged party supporters to focus their campaigning on the problems and the qualifications of our candidate and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima. He said the country needs a guy like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The President reaffirmed his prior promises that he would lead this campaign because he believed in the party.
President Buhari said it is only the APC that can steer Nigeria to fulfill its historic purpose adding that by working together with the leadership of the party, the campaign council, and its teeming supporters, the goal will be achieved.
The Chairman of the party, Senator Adamu led other party partisans, including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to call on Nigerians to vote for the APC ticket which is the surest way to the prosperity of the country.
