Air Algeria, the national carrier of Algeria, has launched direct flights to Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, marking a strategic step towards enhancing connectivity between North and West Africa.
With Abuja now its 25th destination on the continent, the airline continues to expand its African footprint. Upcoming routes include Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Libreville (Gabon), and N’Djamena (Chad), as part of Air Algeria’s broader regional network growth.
The carrier is also exploring new international routes across Europe, North America, and China, signaling its global ambitions.
According to company statistics, Air Algeria’s passenger traffic to African destinations surged by 76%—rising from just over 100,000 in 2014 to 179,000 in 2024.
