The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, on Sunday, convened a meeting of the leaders of four major political parties: the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Accord Party, at the International Convention Centre, in Awka, Anambra State, marking the commencement of statewide mobilization for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. It also attracted critical stakeholders, candidates on the platform of the political parties, as well as public servants of Anambra State extraction at different levels. Sir Paul Chukwuma and Dr. Chris Ngige, leaders of APC in Anambra, among others, were absent, but duly communicated their support to the host, the Governor of Anambra State.
In his remarks, the Anambra State Chairman of the APC, Senator Emma Anosike, thanked the leadership of all the political parties involved in the Anambra State Coalition for President Tinubu’s re-election. Our sole purpose here is the re-election of President Bola Tinubu…this meeting is for him. Why we are here is that we are focusing on the re-election of President Tinubu,” Soludo reiterated.
Stressing the adoption of President Tinubu as the Presidential candidate of APGA, Professor Soludo said that “If a paternity test were to be conducted on APC, APGA’s DNA will rise strongly in APC.”
According to Soludo, “losing has consequences…there is no prize for second position in politics…only those who plan control the future,” he said. Speaking on his relationship with Mr. Peter Obi, the NDC Presidential candidate, Professor Soludo said Mr. Obi is his friend, but that they differ on politics. “Our brother is my friend. We are quite close. But we differ on politics,” Soludo said.
Charging the stakeholders with the tasks ahead, the Governor noted that while speaking the truth on the 2027 Presidential Election, the people must bear in mind that those driven by emotions will try to resist it. “They will abuse you, they will attack you, but keep on, ” Professor Soludo charged as he strongly emphasized polling unit results. “Everybody is welcome, but our polling unit result will speak to our commitment,” Professor Soludo said.
Earlier, APGA National Chairman Sly Ezeokenwa, Esq., noted that APGA is the most organized party in Nigeria. He equally thanked the Governor for providing leadership. “Thank you for providing leadership. All of us here are united under your leadership. We are solidly behind you. Give us the assignment, we will deliver,” Ezeokenwa assured.
