Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has recently addressed the reasons behind his separation from his wife, Desola, whom he married in 2005. Following reports of the couple’s split that emerged in February, which indicated that Desola had vacated their shared home, the actor finally spoke candidly about the situation during an interview on the YouTube channel Kasnasty Sugar.
During the interview, Afod highlighted jealousy, infidelity, and trust issues as contributing factors to the breakdown of their marriage. While he refrained from providing a detailed account of their relationship’s decline, he suggested that both partners had been unfaithful at some point. He noted the demanding nature of his profession as a challenge to maintaining family time.
Afod expressed concerns over perceived double standards in marital expectations, particularly regarding the use of bedroom toys. He questioned why a woman might be comfortable asking her husband to purchase sex toys for her while objecting if she discovers him using them, indicating a complex view on fidelity and expectations within relationships.
Kunle Afod and Desola began their relationship in 2002 and celebrated their marriage in 2005, with the couple having children together.
