The Irish government has reported that multiple bomb threats sent via email to several media outlets and airlines across Europe are likely part of a coordinated campaign aimed at disruption. A significant number of commercial flights have reportedly been targeted by these threats, which are described as having a higher level of specificity compared to typical hoaxes.
Among the impacted entities is Ireland’s broadcaster RTE, which evacuated its premises following the threats. Additionally, several Italian airlines were also targeted by the same communication. The message purportedly originated from a group identifying itself as the Fighters of the Male State, which has since denied any implication in these incidents.
Eric Schouten, founder and CEO of Dyami Security Intelligence, spoke on the situation and its implications during a discussion with France 24’s Jean-Emile Jammine.
