Nick Cannon, the American actor and television host, has publicly disclosed that he has been diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). Rather than viewing the diagnosis negatively, Cannon sees it as a trait that can be beneficial.
The diagnosis followed a series of psychological assessments that took place over a span of about three months. In his remarks, Cannon contended that having narcissistic traits is not inherently bad and pointed to several highly respected figures as examples. He mentioned that notable individuals such as Steve Jobs, Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, and Michael Jordan share attributes associated with narcissism, suggesting that their confidence and self-belief played critical roles in their success.
Cannon’s perspective is that self-assurance can significantly shape one’s achievements, stating that there is nothing wrong with embodying narcissistic characteristics.
