The Nestle Nigeria Agbara Factory recently marked the 40th anniversary of its Golden Morn brand, celebrating its significant contribution to the country’s breakfast culture and local agriculture. The event attracted guests from various sectors, demonstrating the brand’s broad appeal.
During the celebration, attendees enjoyed traditional performances and a feast that included Golden Morn served with fruits and nuts as local music created a festive atmosphere. The occasion was a testament to Golden Morn’s commitment to using locally sourced ingredients, as all its primary components—maize, soya, and millet—are produced within Nigeria.
Omofasa Orhiunu, the Category Manager for Golden Morn, emphasized the brand’s long-standing heritage, stating that it has been a staple in Nigerian households for four decades. He noted that the anniversary is a celebration of not just a product but the people and efforts that have driven the brand’s success. The company plans to roll out a special promotion this November, offering customers an extra 50 grams of Golden Morn with every purchase of a 900-gram pack to honor their loyalty.
Talla Fall, the Agbara Factory Manager, stressed the uniqueness of Golden Morn as a homegrown product, asserting that it is entirely produced and developed in Nigeria. He highlighted the ongoing commitment to quality and nourishment, noting that the factory has adapted over time to include innovations such as the introduction of ready-to-eat cereals.
The anniversary also featured the unveiling of a limited edition packaging design, showcasing the brand’s journey while maintaining the familiar quality and taste customers expect. As the company reflects on its past, it also looks forward to continuing its mission to nourish families and support local farmers.
Health professionals at the event praised Golden Morn for its nutritional benefits and ease of preparation, encouraging attendees to prioritize their well-being and enjoy nourishing meals.
