Also, in a few days, the Tata family will get a lawyer and there should be the ascertaining of the facts of how she was brought back from Nigeria to the U.S. While her family, through her older brother Ron Tata, 26, said she turned herself in around 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, in Port Harcourt, the U.S Marshal’s and the Security unit of the U.S State Department stated in a press release that their own efforts and work specifically led to her arrest. See their statement here on USAfrica.
Ron said: “She planned to do it a couple days ago, and they came over to pick her up after she called them and said she wanted to turn herself in, basically.” The next phase is her trial before a judge on the 14 counts/charges against her.
Oh shut up. It just got charged with food stamp theft. How many mistakes do you need?
A very sad story, but we must always remember that no one is above mistake. By turning herself in its a sign that she has decided to confront the issue rather than run away from it. One day, her trial will be over but for those who have lost children, the pain will forever be there…
