Nigeria international soccer star, Olubayo Adefemi, has died in a car crash while on holiday to get married, Greek police and health authorities have revealed. The Police has said that the 25-year-old defender, who played for Greek club Xanthi, was killed after skidding off a highway near the northern town of Kavala on Monday April 18, 2011.
Adefemi was unfortunate to miss World Cup selection in 2010, but featured in the Netherlands’ World Youth Championship in 2005 when Nigeria lost to an Argentina side that included a young Lionel Messi.
The Nigerian played at clubs in Romania, Austria and Israel before moving to Greece last year after leaving French outfit Boulogne. USAfricaonline.com wt agency/wire reports/footbal365/
