A few minutes after President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of his political party, All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, March 25, 2019, concluded a presidential dinner at the New Banquet Hall of the State House with serving APC senators and APC senators-elect, the presence of the senator-elect for Anambra South Ifeanyi Ubah increased speculation that he was abandoning the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the APC.
USAfrica is informed that the comments during dinner by APC’s chairman, former Governor of Edo State, Adam Oshiomole fueled the “confirmation” of Ubah, allegedly, jilting YPP for the APC.
For clarity of the meaning of his presence at the APC strategy dinner to harmonize and firm up the National Assembly hierarchy of the 9th Assembly, I called senator-elect Ubah very early today Tuesday March 26, 2019.
I asked him “to confirm reports in almost all the Nigerian major newspapers that you have joined the APC. If yes could you tell #USAfrica readerships and demographics who are very familiar with you, what informed the decision?”
He said twice: “I’ve not joined the APC. I only caucused with them, yesterday. Why would I move to another party when I have a court case regarding our election. I only caucused with APC.”
