Scale of impact and fatalities from the series of major earthquakes in Turkey and Syria continue to escalate. As at early Tuesday, February 7, 2023, the numbers are said to have surpassed 4,800.
The 7.8 magnitude quake rocked south-eastern Turkey and northern Syria on Monday.
