MAIDUGURI, Nigeria — Nigerian Air Force (NAF) spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame confirmed today that “several terrorists were neutralized” following a series of precision air interdictions in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest on Monday, April 20, 2026. The strikes, conducted under the air component of Operation Hadin Kai, resulted in the destruction of fortified bunkers and significant logistics infrastructure used by insurgent remnants.
According to a statement released by Air Commodore Ejodame, the mission was the result of days of intensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Surveillance footage confirmed that active terrorist elements were regrouping within concealed structures and storage facilities in the Yuwe area prior to the engagement.
“Acting on credible intelligence, NAF air assets engaged the targets with precision munitions,” Ejodame stated. “The strikes succeeded in destroying fortified structures used as meeting points. Subsequent battle damage assessments confirmed that several fighters were neutralized, and key logistics facilities were eliminated.”
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commended the flight crews for their operational efficiency. He reaffirmed the military’s resolve to sustain this tempo, noting that the mounting pressure from air and ground forces has left terrorist networks in the North-East increasingly disrupted. The NAF further emphasized its strict adherence to international rules of engagement, ensuring the mission was executed with surgical precision to avoid civilian harm.
