The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has expressed strong criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, labeling it as the most detrimental in Nigeria’s history. He warns that northern Nigeria could face severe repercussions if Tinubu is re-elected in 2027.
During a recent broadcast interview, Baba-Ahmed emphasized the apparent disconnect between the government and the everyday struggles of the populace, stating, ‘The North will be finished if Tinubu wins in 2027. He’s the worst President ever in the history of Nigeria.’ He pointed to a recent meeting between President Tinubu and leaders from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, where the bishops conveyed a grim outlook on national issues such as hunger, economic difficulties, and increasing security challenges.
Baba-Ahmed criticized the administration’s dismissive response to these concerns. He noted that the bishops, who represent a respected segment of society, had approached the president to discuss public discontent. Instead of acknowledging the issues raised, Baba-Ahmed claims that Tinubu rejected their observations outright, stating, ‘For every issue the bishops raised, the President said, no, you are wrong. I am right. There is no hunger in this country, what you are saying is not true.’ Such a stance, according to Baba-Ahmed, reflects a troubling lack of awareness and acknowledgment from the President regarding the plight of the citizens.
