The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has detained four individuals in connection with a murder and kidnapping case that occurred in Ikot Itienang Village, Ekom Eman, within the Etinan Local Government Area. According to police spokesperson DSP Timfon John, the incident took place on July 12, 2026, during an armed robbery that resulted in the death of one person and the abduction of another.
Following an investigation, police identified two suspects as Gospel Effiong, also known as ‘Python,’ and Solomon Okon, known as ‘Plane.’ The other two apprehended were Musa Kabiru, from Plateau State, and Victor Dickson, who are suspected of receiving stolen property.
A search of Okon’s residence uncovered a locally-made pistol, one cartridge, a significant amount of suspected Indian hemp, a red cap inscribed with ‘Supreme Red Skin Confraternity,’ which may serve as a charm, along with various incriminating items.
The police emphasized their commitment to ensuring community safety and encouraged the public to continue providing information to help apprehend remaining suspects and deter criminal activities in the area.
