Pope Leo XIV has commenced a significant three-country tour of Latin America, beginning on November 6 in Uruguay, noted as the region’s least Catholic and most secular nation.
This trip follows the Pope’s recent recovery from lung cancer surgery, which had raised concerns about the possibility of the tour proceeding as planned. After visiting Uruguay, the Pope is set to travel to Argentina and then to Peru.
