A tragic incident occurred in Zamfara State, Nigeria, where 12 members of a single family lost their lives after bandits allegedly torched their residence. The attack took place in Gidan Taba village, located in the Dosara Birnin Kaya Ward of the Maradun Local Government Area.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday night, November 7, 2026. Reports indicate that the victims were part of a family led by Mallam Muhammadu Sani, who gathered his relatives into one room to protect them from potential kidnapping during the raid. As per local sources, when the bandits discovered that the family had locked themselves inside, they demanded that the door be opened. The family refused, prompting the attackers to set the house ablaze.
All 12 family members perished in the fire, and while the exact number of residents abducted during the attack remains unverified, additional local residents were reported missing. The 12 victims were buried in accordance with Islamic rites on the following Sunday morning.
