Lupita Nyong’o named ‘Most Beautiful’ in latest People magazine

The first-time Oscar winner has been named “Most Beautiful” by People magazine; as announced Wednesday morning.
“It was exciting and just a major, major compliment…. I was happy for all the girls who would see me on (it) and feel a little more seen”, said the 31-year-old actress who won the 2014 Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie ’12 Years a Slave.’
Lupita who has a rich dark ebony skin said her mother Dorothy encouraged and inspired her self-confidence. She “always said I was beautiful, and I finally believed her at some point.” She added that “When I have been called beautiful with not one drop of makeup on and also before I comb my hair or put on a pretty dress.” She was born in Mexico City.
On her life, Lupita underscored the point that “happiness is the most important thing.”
