President Bola Tinubu has assured citizens that his administration will address the pressing security issues facing Northern Nigeria. Speaking during the Third Late General Hassan Usman Katsina Memorial Conference in Kaduna, Tinubu emphasized that decisive measures are being implemented to counter criminal activities nationwide.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, Tinubu paid homage to the late General Katsina, praising his contributions to national unity and historical significance.
“By the grace of Allah, the challenges of insecurity confronting us in Northern Nigeria will soon be behind us,” the President remarked, reiterating his commitment to the country’s security and honoring past national heroes.
During his address, Tinubu also highlighted several initiatives aimed at improving education, transportation, and energy sectors across Nigeria. The establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has reportedly aided over one million students in accessing higher education. Additionally, reforms have been introduced to strengthen institutional autonomy in universities.
On infrastructure, the President outlined ongoing projects, including major road reconstructions and rail line developments aimed at enhancing connectivity. He noted advancements in the power sector, including the upgrade of significant power plants and solar energy initiatives targeting rural communities.
Lastly, Tinubu mentioned the establishment of new educational institutions, including an upgraded university named after General Hassan Usman Katsina, which is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s educational landscape while contributing to national development.
