A suicide bomber killed himself and wounded 9 others on Friday August 3, hours before US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, arrived in Kenya for a scheduled visit, reported here on USAfricaonline.com.
The suicide took place in a Somali-dominated community neighborhood in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital. Mrs. Clinton left Uganda to meet Kenya’s President Mwai Kibaki on Saturday and, afterwards with the Somali President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed.
PANA has reported that the explosion went off near the neighbourhood called California in Nairobi’s Majengo slums, popularly known as the recruiting ground for Somalia’s Al Shabaab militia/terror group.
A Police source said a Kenyan soldier was amongst the nine injured people. But a Kenyan military spokesman, Colonel Cyrus Oguna, said information about the latest attack was not immediately available. “The air force officer stationed near the flight path to control crowds appeared to have been the target. The soldier sustained slight burns but has been discharged from hospital. ref: USAfrica with PANA reports

USAfrica: Ikemba ODUMEGWU OJUKWU’s farewell in Aba, today February 28, 2012, reflected a fitting tribute, historically meaningful celebration, proper regard and deserving appreciation of the greatest Igbo, in my opinion, to have ever lived (like him or hate him).
I SALUTE Aba (aka Enyimba city), the robust and fearless town I was born, bred and raised, for giving the Ikemba, our Ochiagha, Gburugburu, Oka oburu uzo, dike na ndu ma n’onwu, mgbadike anyi, a hero’s farewell.
To the Ikemba, may your valiant soul rest in peace and dignity.
We will, and I, Chido Nwangwu, will never forget to continue to tell my generation and the next about your towering courage through tempest and thunder; through sorrow, pain, tears, blood….
