The Gambian government has opened an 11-member joint investigative panel to probe the alleged coup plot it foiled last week.
“The investigators have 30 days effective today to investigate, prepare and submit their report on the alleged coup plot,” government spokesperson Ebrima Sankareh said in a statement Tuesday.
So far, the West African nation has arrested eight soldiers and one civilian who are still being held for investigation purposes.
