Obama says “real Mitt Romney” was not the man he debated in Denver; awaits Oct 16 showdown

USAfrica: After a less than satisfactory debate outcome last night October 3, 2012 in Denver, the Democratic Party presidential flag-bearer and U.S President Barack Obama, is wondering where the “real Mitt Romney” was at their first meeting. “I met this very spirited fellow who claimed to be Mitt Romney. But it couldn’t have been Mitt
Romney.”
Obama told his supporters at a rally in Denver (Colorado) that the “real Mitt Romney has been running around the country for the last year promising $5 trillion in tax cuts that favor the wealthy. The fellow on stage last night said he didn’t know anything about that…. When he was asked what he’d actually do to cut the deficit and reduce spending, he said he’d eliminate funding for public television. That was his answer.” He then joked “I mean thank goodness somebody is finally getting tough on Big Bird. It’s about time. We didn’t know that Big Bird was driving the federal deficit. But that’s what we heard last night. How about that? Elmo, too?”
During the debate, Republican flag-bearer Romney said he will cut spending on several items such as the popular US Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) while adding with a smile: “I love Big Bird.”
Significantly, the re-energized and focused Romney has now stated that “Victory is in sight,” in a fundraising e-mail, today.
Conservatives, Republicans, many liberals, media specialists and millions of Americans say factually that Romney performed better and achieved more for his campaign leaving President Obama on a defensive posture. See post-debate commentary: How and Why Romney beat Obama in first presidential debate. By Chido Nwangwu, Publisher of USAfrica. https://usafricaonline.com/2012/10/03/how-and-why-romney-beat-obama-in-first-presidential-debate-by-chido-nwangwu/
Romney’s campaign spokesman Ryan Williams dismissed Obama’s search for the “real Mitt Romney” as reflecting his failings in the debate. According to Williams: “In full damage-control mode, President Obama today offered no defense of his record and no vision for the future. Rather than a plan to fix our economy, President Obama simply offered more false attacks and renewed his call for job-killing tax hikes.”
One man who is principal, lead strategist for Obama, David Axelrod, agrees that Romney had an impactful debate showing but insisting it was a dishonest one because in his words Romney was “hiding the truth and the facts…. It was a very vigorous performance, but one that was devoid of honesty.”
Several Obama supporters and voters who watched the debate informed USAfricaonline.com and CLASSmagazine that expressed their concerns about his relatively uninspiring performance. One of those who wish Obama well but expects more is California-based Dr. Bernard Okwelogu who sent his views to USAfrica notes that Obama “did not reveal he is the President and The Man. No fire in the belly.” Adding, he needs better preparation.
On October 16, 2012, Obama and Romney will clash in the next presidential debate in Hempstead, New York. It promises to bring out the edge, zingers and on-stage fact checks from the two candidates. By Chido Nwangwu.

The greatest Igbo ODUMEGWU OJUKWU’s great farewell in Aba. By Chido Nwangwu https://usafricaonline.com/2012/02/28/the-greatest-igbo-odumegwu-ojukwu-farewell-in-aba-by-chido-nwangwu
USAfrica: Ikemba ODUMEGWU OJUKWU’s farewell in Aba, today February 28, 2012, reflected a fitting tribute, historically meaningful celebration, proper regard and deserving appreciation of the greatest Igbo, in my opinion, to have ever lived (like him or hate him).
I SALUTE Aba (aka Enyimba city), the robust and fearless town I was born, bred and raised, for giving the Ikemba, our Ochiagha, Gburugburu, Oka oburu uzo, dike na ndu ma n’onwu, mgbadike anyi, a hero’s farewell.
To the Ikemba, may your valiant soul rest in peace and dignity.
We will, and I, Chido Nwangwu, will never forget to continue to tell my generation and the next about your towering courage through tempest and thunder; through sorrow, pain, tears, blood…. •Dr. Chido Nwangwu, Founder & Publisher of USAfrica multimedia networks, first African-owned, U.S-based newspaper published on the internet USAfricaonline.com; and recipient of several journalism and public policy awards, was recently profiled by the CNN International for his pioneering works on multimedia/news/public policy projects for Africans and Americans. http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/international/2010/07/29/mpa.african.media.bk.a.cnn.
