The focal event of the day took place at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka, where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the proceedings. In her address as the chief guest, Prime Minister Hasina emphasized the imperative for mill and factory owners to prioritize the welfare of labourers.
Additionally, various public and private organizations across Bangladesh organized conferences, seminars, marches, and walks to honour the invaluable contributions of labourers and commemorate their sacrifices.
The significance of May Day was also underscored by national newspapers, which published special supplements dedicated to the occasion, further highlighting the importance of recognizing and championing the rights of workers.
