BlackPumps, an organization of African/Black professional women, will give its woman of the year award
to Mrs. Ijeoma Okwuchi, at their event July 31-August 2, 2014 in Las Vegas.
In a statement sent to USAfrica and CLASSmagazine (Houston), the group’s President Noni Nwasike notes the honoree’s “selfless devotion, sacrifice and grateful spirit is an inspiration to all women. Her story is so inspiring…. a story of victory and courage in the face of challenges that would task the most determined of all women.”
Ijeoma graduated from the Abia State University (legacy Imo State University) with a degree in English. The Trustees and Advisory Board of Black Pumps, Inc. voted unanimously to honor her as their 2014 Woman of the Year. Evidently, this banker has an inspiring and faithful story of her adult life as an overcomer — as powerfully told in her book Refined for Rebirth. IF any of the Nigerian President’s 100 advisers has the polite courage for the extraordinary task of reminding His Excellency of his foremost, sworn, constitutional obligation to the national interest about security and safety of Nigerians and all who sojourn in Nigeria, please whisper clearly to Mr. President that I said, respectfully: Nigerians, at home and abroad, are still concerned and afraid for living in what I call Nigeria’s Federal Republic of Insecurity.
